1) MS Dhoni:
The former captain of the Indian cricket team is a perfect example of determination, patience and hard work. Though he started his career as a train ticket examiner to sustain his family, he followed his passion and eventually grew up to be one of the highest paid athletes on the planet. Dhoni is also into many businesses apart from cricket and is a role model for every youngster in the country.
2) Harbhajan Singh:
Harbhajan Singh was born in Jalandhar to below middle-class parents. He was so poverty stricken that at one point in time, he planned to migrate to Canada and settle there as a truck driver. Somehow, he followed his passion and became one of the best spinners of the Indian team.
3) Ravindra Jadeja:
Ravindra Jadeja, one of the best all-rounders in the world came from humble beginnings. His mother was a nurse. At the age of 16, he lost his mother in a kitchen accident. His talent and hard work paid off when he made entry into the Indian cricket team.
4) Virat Kohli:
Virat Kohli, the present captain of the Indian cricket team is often referred to as one of the best cricketers ever. His father was a criminal lawyer and he was the youngest of 3 children of the family. Kohli dropped out of his school in 12th standard and went on to captain the U-19 team, that went on to win the world cup. Now, he is the richest cricketer in the world and also has started many businesses on his own.
5) Pathan brothers:
Yousuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan were born in a poor orthodox Muslim family. Their father was a religious leader in the mosque and they had to live in the mosque premises. They worked very hard to fulfill their dream and now they have started their own cricket academy to help the underprivileged.
6) Pandya brothers:
Krunal and Hardik are playing a key role in what team India is achieving both in the subcontinent and abroad. They were born in Surat, Gujrat and moved to Baroda to have access to quality coaching facilities. They didn’t even have money for petrol and food during their struggling years. Now, one can see what they have achieved with their determination.
7) Murali Vijay:
Indian test batsman Murali Vijay had to face a lot of difficulties in his life to reach this point. He left his house at a very young age and stayed in a lodge. To meet the expenses, he had to work in a snooker club. After consistent efforts, he was selected for Tamil Nadu state and eventually managed to secure a place in the Indian cricket team.
