Journey of Vijay Devarakonda- The Tollywood Heartthrob.

It is a known fact that Vijay is the present heartthrob of Tollywood and other south industries. However, it is interesting to know that this ‘Arjun reddy’ actor had to undergo a lot of struggle to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.

Vijay finished his schooling from Sri Satya sai higher secondary school in Puttaparthi in 2004. After his schooling, he came back to Hyderabad to do his intermediate in little flower junior college(MEC) and continued to pursue his bachelor’s degree from Badruka degree college(B.Com honors). Though he was a meritorious student throughout, he found acting more interesting than studies and joined a theatre group and was a very busy theatre artist for a while.

While still doing theatre, he managed to do a key role in Ravi Babu’s Nuvvila(2011) and Shekhar kammula’s Life is beautiful(2011). Nag Ashwin, the assistant director of Shekhar, offered a role to Vijay in his movie, Yevade Subrahmanyam(2015). Vijay`s performance won the hearts of the audience in this movie. In 2016, Tharun Bhaskar`s Pellichoopulu was the first movie of Vijay in a leading role. This film was a huge success and won a national award. Though “Dwaraka”(2017) couldn’t reach the expectations, Vijay came back strongly with Sandeep Vanga’s “Arjun Reddy”, in the same year for which he won `best actor` award.

This success was followed by Mahanati, Geethagovindam before he encountered a speed breaker in the form of `NOTA`, a Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual. However, he satisfied his fans with `Taxiwala`.It is a bit interesting to know that, though we can`t imagine some other actor playing `Arjun Reddy`yet, Vijay was not the first choice of the director. The role came to Vijay after it was rejected by various actors including Sarvanand.

Besides being a successful actor, Vijay has proven his big heart during various occasions like Kerela floods, auctioning his Filmfare award, Etc. To stay connected with his `rowdy` fans, Vijay has launched `rowdy` wear and mobile application. Vijay, on various occasions, said that his initial schooling years and habit of reading books have shaped him into what he is today.
