India, like many other countries in the world, is a victim of terrorism. Sadly, having a neighbor like Pakistan makes the situation even worse.
Many terrorist organizations like JeM, LeT etc., have previously planned and successfully executed their plans in creating chaos and a feeling of insecurity in the minds of citizens of our country. There are instances of many such incidents in recent times.
On 14th February 2019, when the whole world was busy celebrating valentine’s day, Indians had to observe the black day as a result of a terror attack which resulted in the death of more than 40 CRPF personnel. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed.
On 2nd January 2016, a heavily armed group attacked Pathankot airforce station of the Indian airforce. The attackers were wearing Indian army fatigues and suspected to belong to Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group.
On 18th September 2016, four militants attacked an Indian army brigade headquartered in Uri.17 army personnel were killed on the spot and around 30 were injured in the attack. India blamed jaish-e-Mohammed for this attack.
Attack on Amarnath yatra pilgrims:
On 10 July 2017, the first Monday of auspicious Shraavana month of Indian calendar,8 civilian pilgrims were killed and almost 18 people were injured in the attack. Most of them belonged to the Indian state of Gujarat. The attackers were identified as Lashkar-e-taiba militants.
On 10 February 2018, in the early hours jaish-e-Mohammed militants attacked Indian army camp in Sunjuwan, Jammu. This attack resulted in the death of 11 military personnel,4 attackers and 1 civilian. Mufti Waqas was described as the mastermind of this attack by the Indian army. He was a commander in Jaish-e-Mohammed and was killed in an encounter on 5th March 2018.
Though the governments are trying their best to curb terrorism, because of some safe-haven countries like Pakistan, terrorism is growing out to be a threat to humanity.
